IELTS Reading Test Format

The Reading section comprises 40 questions that test a wide range of reading skills. These include reading for gist, reading for details, reading for main ideas, skimming, understanding logical arguments and recognizing the opinions of the writers, attitudes, and purposes. The test is of total 60 minutes.

Academic Reading Test Format

The test includes three long texts that range from descriptive and factual to discursive and analytical. These texts are derived from books, newspapers, journals, and magazines.
