Tourists or business visa holders in the United States can apply for jobs & give interview

Tourists or business visa holders in the US can apply for jobs and give interviews, according to a recent announcement by USCIS.

1

Searching for employment and interviewing for a position are permissible B-1 or B-2 activities, but before beginning any new employment, a petition and request for a change of status from B-1 or B-2 to an employment-authorized status must be approved, and the new status must take effect.

2

B visa holders, including B-1 and B-2, can apply for jobs and give interviews while in the US, but they cannot get recruited by any US domestic labor market job and must convert their tourist/business visa into a US work permit upon starting the job officially.

This announcement is good news for those visiting the US on a B-1 or B-2 visa and looking for job opportunities.
