Going Dutch

Meaning:

each person attending a paid activity should pay their own expenses.

Examples:

  • So you guys going Dutch on the rent or what?
  • You don't want to spend your fifth anniversary going Dutch at Katz's Deli.
  • That's, in a sense, going Dutch.
  • I'm not going Dutch, so...
  • Oh, and we're going Dutch on dinner, so make sure you bring some cash.
  • So, are we going Dutch?
  • We're going Dutch, by the way.
  • Oh, oh, and, um, I also really like that idea of going Dutch on principle except, you know, I don't have any money so it's kind of more of an intellectual exercise.
