Up In Arms

Meaning:

Angry; a person being roused to the point where they are ready to fight.

Examples:

  • We're up in arms, with very little confidence in you.
  • Churchill's up in arms, and so am I.
  • The whole village was up in arms.
  • The whole city is up in arms.
  • I understand that you are up in arms.
  • This, of course, is absurd but all across the nation, parents are up in arms.
  • It is attracting the opposition of those it is intended to help, who are up in arms.
  • But one of those subjects has some people up in arms.
